Skywatch pictures

Don't  a couple of these clouds look like flying saucers?   I have never seen shapes like these before.
These two sky pictures were on same day, within hours of one another.   This last one was as evening started to come around.   We have been seeing some lovely skies lately and I always enjoy them.

What a wonderful pair of contrasting skies! Yes, flying saucers is an apt description. Extraordinary how the red is confined to the clouds. I wonder how the colors progressed with the continuation of the sunset. Must have been huge. Great way to start the weekend. Cheers.

Wow, you had a great SkyWatch day that day!

I love "flying saucer" clouds! We get them a lot here in Wyoming. They're called "lenticular" clouds, and I first learned about them not long after moving to WY because a local woman was fascinated by them, and took photos of every one she saw and sold them. You might enjoy this web site! 20 Most Incredible Lenticular Clouds

That sunset is amazing! What unusual colors! I see you got a bit of your beloved purple, but that shade of red is surreal! "Persimmon," maybe! So beautiful!

(I'm going to explore more of your blog, looks like we're like-minded in many ways!) :-)
